2011 IGD Event
International Gator Day 2011 was very successful
The Gator Club of Jacksonville provided local kids with an opportunity to pursue their dreams.
Time: Saturday, May 21 · 9:00am - 1:00pm
Location: Davis Performing Arts Center, 4012 University Blvd. North
Thank you to our volunteers for our 2011 International Gator Day Project! We assisted the Davis Performing Arts Center which provides at-risk youth in the Greater Jacksonville Community an opportunity to pursue their dreams of a career in the performing arts. We helped build and paint props/sets for their theatre production that took place on June 4th. Everyone's different talents were utilized as we constructed parts of the set, painted background props and even stuffed some fake people for a cafeteria scene! The Davis Center was extremely thankful for our contribution and sent us a thank you letter to let us know we saved them hours of work that they could instead vote to helping the children learn their parts and prepare for their performance. It was an extremely satisfying volunteer project!
