Volunteer for the Habitat for Humanity Build

The Gator Club of Jacksonville invites all Gators to assist with a Habijax build on Saturday, February 18, 2012 from 7:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The day will begin by meeting at the downtown headquarters:
Habitat For Humanity
2404 Hubbard Street
Jacksonville, FL 32206-2911
(904) 798-4529

A typical build day schedule:
  • 7:40 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.: Volunteer registration, sign in at HabiJax main office
  • 8:00 a.m. – 8:15 a.m.: Morning circle, team leader introductions, travel to site (directions provided)
  • 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.: Lunch break
  • 3:00 p.m.: Begin clean-up
  • 3:30 p.m.: Volunteer day concludes
Once we meet at the downtown headquarters and go to our site, the amount of time you spend there is up to you. Only have 2 hours to spend? That's fine! Want to leave for lunch then come back? No problem! All volunteer time is valuable.

There's a lot to do such as framing, house windows, landscaping, punch lists, roofing, siding, and soffit & fascia. Even if you don't have any of these skills you'll learn with the rest of us!

What to bring:
  • Be sure to wear closed toed shoes or boots
  • Gator teeshirt—one you don't mind getting dirty
  • Layered clothing is recommended based on the weather
  • Lunch
  • A plastic drinking cup or bottle
  • Valuables—especially jewelry—should be left at home
Please RSVP by email to Andrew May at volunteer@jaxgatorclub.com so we know who to expect at the downtown headquarters on the morning of 2/18.

If you have questions you can also email Andrew at volunteer@jaxgatorclub.com.

Bring your friends—club members or not—and let's make this a great Gator volunteer day!
